Agent Resumes
An agent Resume is often something that gets sent to people on spec, meaning that there may not necessarily be a guaranteed job for anyone, so for something that is at best hit and miss, you absolutely need to make sure that it is a perfect piece of work.
All Agent Resume’s should be delivered with a professionally put together cover letter, explaining the reason for the Resume. In the case of a job application, you need to acknowledge the job that is being sought, and explain why you would be the perfect candidate for the job, using your qualifications and your work experience as examples. Make sure though, that you only touch on this, because your Agent Resume will give more detail about this. Make sure that your Agent cover letter clearly spells out exactly what you are offering to do for the recipient, and sign off politely, with a call to action to peruse the Agent Resume closely.
Once the Agent cover letter is completed, you need to start putting together the resume. Start this with a powerful objective, which clearly states your goals and ambitions. Make sure that these goals and ambitions closely match the person to whom you are applying, because if you have different targets and hopes, you are unlikely to be a good match in business.
The next section of your Agent Resume should focus on your working experience. Make sure you really elaborate wherever possible on previous work. Talk about specific duties you carried out, mention when you have been particularly successful representing one of your clients, and talk about your responsibilities to clients, to indicate how seriously you take your job. Make sure that all of your previous jobs run in reverse order in this section, starting with the most recent,
In the section about your qualifications, you can follow a similar format. Start with the most recent qualification and work backwards. Speak specifically and go into depth about any qualifications that relate to the sort of agency work you do, and make sure to highlight any particular areas of skill you have, and use your qualifications to back this up.
The last section of your Agent Resume is particularly crucial. Not only is it a section where you can mention anything else which you think is important to your application, but you also get the chance to give some information about the sort of person you are out of work, which is very important when you are looking for Agent work. People want to know that they are going to be able to get on with you, so you need to convey that you are someone who enjoys socialising, is easy to get on with and enjoys fun as much as you enjoy work. Make sure you paint a great picture of yourself.
Good luck with your application. It can be a tough nut to crack, but with a great agent application, you have a real chance of finding some work very soon.
