Assistant Resumes
As an assistant of any sort of position, you need to know how to behave in the job. The level of servitude which you show in your job ought to be on display within your application, and you need to come across as someone who is willing to please, and can be relied upon at all times. You will in all likelihood be working for someone who will expect you to do work for them on their behalf at times, so it is critical that your work appear to be perfectly presented.
Start off your application with a very pleasant and polite Assistant cover letter. This cover letter needs to be friendly, polite, and professional. Start off by highlighting the job that you are applying for and giving an indication that you would like to be considered for said post. You should indicate why you think this is appropriate, and why you feel you would enjoy the job. Refer to your experience and qualifications here, but only briefly. Make sure you sign off and leave your contact details at the bottom of the page.
Once your Assistant cover letter is done, you need to revamp or possibly restart your Assistant Resume, depending on how it is looking from your last job application. We would always recommend starting from scratch, to make sure that you have the Resume just right.
Start your Assistant Resume with an objective statement. This should be a short sentence or two which explains where you would like your career to go. It is always a wise decision to base your answer around a future within the company to which you are applying, but you should also make sure that your desires are at least somewhat served by the post for which you are applying. Don’t make it sound like you don’t actually want to be an assistant!
The next section of your Resume should be all about your experience in the workplace. This should run in chronological order, and should start with the most recent. Try to elaborate on previous posts, especially when they have seen you working as an assistant. Make sure you mention what the individual roles were within all of the jobs, so that the reader can see what experience you might have which matches this post.
The next section of your Assistant Resume should concentrate on your qualifications. Again you should run this in reverse order, and you shouldn’t be afraid to go into detail about particular courses if you feel that the content was relevant to being an assistant.
The final part of your application should be about your life outside of work. It is an opportunity to show the employers that you are an outgoing and responsible adult, so try to think of some clubs you are a member of which will show your willingness to work with other people and be sociable.
Good luck with the application and make sure your Assistant Resume and cover letter are both presented perfectly.
