So, if an applicant had a brief period of unemployment or changed careers; they can explain why and make the action more positive than the resume would have shown it.
With the definition and purpose of a cover letter in mind, it is vital that a person writing a cover letter for the first time understands how to draft one that is effective. The most basic writing format of a cover letter should be in letter form, should be non-formulaic, should be no more than three-four paragraphs, and should draw a feasible line from your career experience and goals to that of the company and position that you are applying for.
