Custodian Resumes


To become a custodian in a large business or building, you need to have plenty of experience, all the necessary certificates, and a great Custodian Resume and cover letter. If you can’t show on paper your skills in this arena, then you will likely be overlooked for positions you would otherwise have been seriously considered for.

For any application, you need to put together a Custodian Resume and Cover letter, and you should always start with the Custodian cover letter. Use it to apply formally for the job, and also to justify your application. If you are applying to a school, then you will want to indicate any past experience in such an establishment, and mention the qualifications you have for working in such an environment, such as a certificate for use of pesticides which will allow you to maintain large areas of green land, such as playing fields and sports fields.

Once your Custodian Cover letter is finalised, you can move on to your Custodian Resume. Start off with an objective which matches the job description. Explain the position you are looking for, and mention whether or not you have the desire to rise up to a management position. Explain a desire to have responsibility for a large building which will show your ambition.

The following section of your Custodian Resume should be a summary of your qualifications for the job. Mention how many years experience you have, and how many members of staff you have had working beneath you in the past, mention your knowledge and prior use of chemicals in order to clean and maintain various areas of municipal buildings and grounds. You should also mention your ability to work manually without any problems, and your knowledge of health and safety with regards to lifting and working outdoors.

The following section of your Custodian Resume should be about your working experience up to this period. You should list all of your previous positions up until now, and go into detail about your duties in each one. This means you need to explain if you were expected to coordinate the work of others on site, whether or not you were required to do repair work in any of your posts, which could well be another string to your bow, whether or not you were required to operate specialist machinery, and whether or not you had other members working beneath you in these positions.

The final section of your Custodian Resume should be about your education. You can mention all forms of education here, but be sure to list all of the certificates you may hold which would be related to the position of custodian. These might be things like Forklift driving certificate, Asbestos removal training, and Pesticides training certificate.
