What Is An Entry Level Position

This article provides information on What Is An Entry Level Position

There are a number of terms that are used in the career world, and all this terminology can be a bit hard to remember for college students or recent college graduates. One of the first terms that a college student should know is that of entry level. Though you have probably always heard the term, perhaps you are not exactly sure what it means, and how it relates to you.

Entry level refers to positions or applicants for positions that have minimal or no hands on experience in the field to which they are applying. For most cases, this is the recent college grads, as they have spent most of their time concentrating on formal education as a foundation for the hands on real world professional experience.

As a college student or recent grad, this will most likely be the position you are applying for in any field of study or industry. What this means is, an employer accepts that you have no hands on experience, and chooses to employ you to teach and train you with a much lower starting wage. Those in entry level positions can make very small starting salaries to fairly good salaries-depending on the industry that they have chosen or the amount of education that they have applied to this career.
