Examiner Resumes

As an Examiner you will be conscious of the need for close attention to detail and concentration. If you fail to observe these rules when compiling your Examiner Resume and cover letter then you will struggle to find the sort of work that you are looking for.

Any application for this sort of role needs to start with an Examiner cover letter. This gives you the opportunity to formally apply for the job, to give some reasons as to why you think you should be considered for the role, and it also allows you to introduce yourself to the reader with a bit of background about yourself. Be careful not to give to much information though because you do not want to repeat yourself at a later date in your Examiner Resume. Just mention some of your qualifications or experience in the field.

Once your Examiner cover letter is complete you should move on to your Examiner Resume. This resume should always start with an objective, in order to put across exactly what sort of role you are looking for. This should closely mirror the job description for the job at hand. You can also use this to put forward your skills in the position. You can say that you are looking for a role that will stretch my already considerable knowledge of the insurance market, and one which will lead me to a higher management position once I have proven my worth at this level. Obviously you need to know that job progression is possible but it looks good to show confidence and desire.

The following section of your Examiner Resume should be about your core skills. You should mention the number of years you have racked up as an examiner. Beyond that, you need to list all of your pertinent skills. You can mention your ability to judge individual cases on their own merit, an ability to pay close attention to detail, an understanding of the related statistics in your industry in order to make sound judgement, and the ability to follow guidelines set by the company.

The next section of your Examiner Resume should focus on your professional experience. List all of your previous jobs and go into detail about every single one. You should be explaining what your duties were in each position. Mention how many different claims you would have to evaluate on a day to day basis, how you dealt with complicated issues, explain if anyone worked underneath you as a trainee examiner, and you should also give an idea about any particular skills you utilised to help you to examine each case.

The final section of your Examiner Resume should be about your qualifications. Often examiners have degrees in law or some of the science disciplines, but any degree will show that you have been educated to the necessary level. On the job training will be most relevant, and depending on what area of the industry you are working in, this might be something like an insurance inspector certificate, or a teacher training certificate.
