Groundskeeper Resumes

As a Groundkeeper you will be more than aware that things need to be presented well, and attention to detail is important. You need to be sure to apply this logic to your application for any roles which you might go for. Make sure you create a superb Groundskeeper Resume and cover letter in order to give yourself the best possible chance of landing a new role.

The first task of your application will be to put together a convincing Groundskeeper cover letter. This is to apply for the position formally, and for you to emphasise why you should be given consideration. You can mention previous experience but be brief – you will be expanding on this subject later on in your Groundskeeper Resume.

Once your Groundskeeper cover letter is finalised, you should move on to the resume. Your Groundskeeper Resume should start off with an objective statement which will show what sort of position you are hoping to find. You should make sure that this statement relates to the position for which you are applying, but this is also a good opportunity for you to put forward some of your skills. Here you can talk about your knowledge and ability to operate machinery related to maintenance such as heavy machinery like ride on lawn mowers and other gardening implements. You can also mention your general abilities to repair on a daily basis. You should extol your virtues in terms of turf replacement and your knowledge of how to maintain sports fields and similar areas. You should also indicate that you find it very easy to work with others as well as on your own.

The next section of your Groundskeeper Resume should focus on your previous working experience. You should go through all of your previous posts, starting with your most recent, and mention all of the duties you were required to carry out on a day to day basis. These will include regularly checking the outside of the building including all walkways and paths for safety hazards. You may have had to keep a rota for all of the other staff on your books, and you might well have been expected to understand and implement pesticides in some areas of your grounds.

The final section of your Groundskeeper Resume should be about your qualifications. There are no recognised qualifications specifically devised for groundskeepers, but you can list your high school diploma, any further qualifications you will have received, and if you have it, you should mention your public pesticide operator licence, which you may well have to have if you land a role in this industry.
