ASP.NET Programmer Job Description



The job of an asp.net programmer involves building dynamic websites, web applications and web services using the asp.Net framework.

Education/Experience Requirements for the job of an asp.net programmer: A successful candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent and have at least 2 years working experience in the related field. Some companies may require candidates to possess certification related to programming.

Skills of an asp.net programmer include but are not limited to: experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Database programming; advanced knowledge in ASP.NET web programming, Visual Basic.Net, Javascript, Classic ASP, C-hash.NET, Microsoft .NET frameworks and MS SQL Server; familiarity with windows OS functionality, usage, file systems and structures, organization, e-mail, researching and internet use among others; excellent oral and written communication skills; time management and organizational skills; and superb interpersonal skills.

Specific work elements of the job as an asp.net programmer include: planning, developing, organizing, implementing, designing and evaluating web or desktop applications; developing a timeline for all projects; communications with clients and project team members; developing and presenting training materials; keeping up-to-date with web and desktop applications; and performing other related duties as assigned.
