Aeronautical Test Engineer Job Description
The job of an aeronautical test engineer involves performing engineering assignments that require the application of diversified test-engineering practices in developing test packages to be used in aeronautical production.
Education/Experience Requirements for the job of an aeronautical project engineer: A successful candidate must possess a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, aeronautics, fluid dynamics, thermal dynamics, or any related field. Some companies prefer candidates with a Master’s degree or PhD, plus work experience on specific fields related to their company.
Skills of an aeronautical test engineer include but are not limited to: considerable knowledge of engineering research procedures, techniques and methods; advanced knowledge in engineering principles; ability to implement aeronautical engineering research studies; ability to direct work of personnel; excellent oral and written communication skills; and superb interpersonal skills.
Specific work elements of the job as an aeronautical test engineer include but are not limited to: planning, developing and conducting tests on aeronautical systems, mechanisms, equipments, aircrafts and other components; applying knowledge and principles of testing methodology, procedures and aeronautical engineering; developing software or hardware to conduct tests on aeronautical products and systems; and performing other tasks as a test engineer.
