Java Developer Job Description
The job of a Java developer involves creating programs and websites based on the scripting language JavaScript to create moving drop-down menus, images, animation, and music. These developers also ensure Java websites meet business requirements and enhance site usability, design and functionality. Their job is to gather and document user requirements, analyze data and conduct quality assurance testing.
Education/Experience Requirements for the job of a Java developer: A successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, information systems or software engineering systems, computer science, computer programming or a related discipline. Continuing education is required in this field to keep up with changing JavaScript technologies.
Skills of a Java developer include but are not limited to: Analytical and problem-solving skills, technical writing skills, effective communication skills, multi-tasking and time-management skills, organization skills, and interpersonal skills. He/she should also be highly technologically savvy with experience working with JavaScript, HTML, Microsoft SQL Server, Eclipse, EJB and JSP, among others.
Specific work elements of the job as a Java developer include but are not limited to: Creating complex web-based applications, developing e-commerce sites that use collection of user information, writing and revising programs to handle a specific job based on client/website requirements, producing weekly or monthly progress reports, and implementing functions based on prototypes, among others.
