2. Dress in the appropriate manner. Often, when it comes to looking for restaurant jobs, the best chance you stand is to call into the restaurants. When you do this, you never know if you are going to be handed an application form, or interviewed there and then on the spot. In case it is the latter, make sure that you are presenting yourself in a manner befitting the establishment.

3. Seek out someone who can make a decision. It’s best to approach the first person you see working in a restaurant about any possible vacancies, but you should always ask for the manager first. For all you know the member of staff that you ask might be worried about losing his or her job, and they are likely to tell you that there are no jobs going at all!

4. Take a resume. There is always the chance that there will be no one there to speak to you, so you should have a resume handy to leave with the restaurant. This is also useful when you are told that there are no vacancies, because it is something that you can leave with them.

5. Don’t give up! There are plenty of restaurants in every town, and you need to make sure you approach them all. If there are no vacancies then you need to make sure that they all have your resume for future reference.
