4. Look for apprentice positions. These positions tend to be sponsored by trade unions so as soon as you start out you know that you have a backing of a union.
5. Speak to the people you know. A lot of things happen by word of mouth, and it might just be that there is an opportunity for you just around the corner that you don’t know about. Let the word out that you are searching for a union job. You might be pleasantly surprised to find that people you know are already in union jobs and they might be able to help you to get in too.
