A and P Mechanic Responsibilities and Duties
Get to know about the Roles, Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities of A and P Mechanic.
Maintain and repair airframe and power plant components of aircraft.
Perform regular maintenance to identify defective or replacement parts.
Sign work forms on completing the assigned duties.
Update technical manuals, electrical drawings, and parts books as needed.
Coordinate with Lead Mechanic and other workers on aircraft maintenance and repair
Manage ordering, shipping, receiving and stocking aircraft parts and supplies.
Assemble, disassemble and reassemble the repaired parts according to specifications.
Study the work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine repair process and other necessary operations.
Handle patching, decaling, re-cabling, painting etc of aircraft parts.
Perform regular and random aircraft inspections.
Assist in installation or rebuilding of airships.
Maintain neat, safe and orderly work area.
Ensure that support equipment and tools are in operational conditions.
Perform aviation maintenance duties in accordance with FAA regulations, airworthiness directives and Company policies.
Prepare and manage aviation maintenance documentation in accordance with Company policies and FAA regulations.
