Childcare Jobs
If you love working with children and have an interest in looking after children between the ages of three months to ten years then Childcare jobs should be something you investigate. You will need to have patience and a genuine passion for the proper upbringing of children in order to take on one of these demanding roles. There are various different positions available to you if you want to work in childcare, from a nursery nurse to a baby sitter. All positions have their own crucial elements and almost any employer will require at least a general level of first aid certificate. If you plan to go down the route of Nurse, then you should start to look at the possibility of taking some sort of medical training which will facilitate the possibility of securing one of these roles.
The qualifications generally required however are few. I would stress again how important it is to have a first aid qualification, and you may also have to be criminally screened too.
If you manage to secure one of these positions then there are a whole host of benefits awaiting you. You will find that hours of work tend to be shorter than office hours, and most childcare workers tend to work a thirty hour week. It can also be very rewarding to work with children day in day out.
The future of child care work is very secure, given the need for both parents to hold down full time jobs because of the fragile economy. Most families would prefer to leave one parent at home to look after the children, but with a recession it is often the case that both parents have to work. Because of this, child care workers are in demand more than ever.
Pay doesn’t tend to be huge however, with the average wage of a child care worker being $28,000 per annum.
