Leader Resumes
Being a leader can mean many things when it comes to jobs, but one thing is for sure – if you are a leader, then you need to have the Leader Resume and cover letter to match! Nobody is going to employ someone in a high profile position without a great application.
You should start your application with a Leader cover letter. This is your chance to apply formally for the job, and also to give some strong reasons why you should be considered. Make sure that you don’t give too much detail here though, because you will be talking about your working experience and your qualifications in your Leader Resume.
Once you have finished your Leader cover letter you should really make a start on your resume whilst the information and subject is fresh in your head. You Leader Resume should start with an objective. Use the job description from the job to help you prepare this. You need to make sure that your objective statement closely matches the job description.
The next section of your Leader Resume should focus on your core strengths. You should indicate how many years you have been a leader for, and then go on to explain your main skills. You should be mentioning here your ability to organise people, you natural ability to lead and you should also indicate that you are a strong character who is able to bear the burden of expectation from others easily.
The next section of your Leader Resume should be a detailed account of your professional experience. You should go through all of your previous positions in reverse order explaining what you did on a day to day basis. You should be referring to things such as planning work for others, creating briefs in order for your staff to follow your plans, liaising with clients in order to understand what will be required of your workforce, and creating a pleasant working environment for your staff through incentives and overall leadership skills.
The final section of your Leader Resume should focus on your qualifications. Whatever type of leader you are, the chances are that you have had to work your way up through a company or two, and you will have only been given this opportunity if you had been well qualified. It is of course possible to become a leader without a great deal of qualifications, but you will no doubt be aided by having at least a degree in your specialised field, and hopefully a masters or a PhD to really show that you are an expert in your field.
