Officer Resumes

Creating your Officer Resume and cover letter is all about making sure that you focus closely on the position that you are applying for. Of course there are numerous different types of officer position out there, but they are all positions which carry a lot of importance and for this reason competition will be high and you will need to work very hard to make sure that you get noticed amongst all of the other applications.

Start your application with a short cover letter indicating that you are interested in being considered for the position. You will need to go a bit further than this though, and give an indication of why you are a good candidate. You could mention some of your relevant experience in previous positions held, but make sure to not go into too much detail, because it is important to save a lot of this information for your Officer Resume. Just give enough to lead the prospective employer to your Resume. Finish off your Officer cover letter by mentioning again how much you would like to be considered for the post, and be sure to leave full contact details.

Once you have finished your Officer cover letter you will be able to move onto your resume. This should be started with a strong objective statement. Make sure that your statement complies with the company’s ethos who you are applying to. There is no point indicating that you see yourself going down a certain avenue when the company you are hoping to work for is going in a different direction.

Your Officer Resume should next have a section devoted to your qualifications and your general education. This section must run in reverse order, and you should make sure that you give plenty of page space to those subjects or qualifications that relate strongly to this position. Try to extract parts of your study that are relevant to the post and discuss why you enjoyed them and in what way you excelled in them.

The following section of your Officer Resume will be about your previous working experience, and this section should be the back bone of your application. Make sure again to run this section in reverse order, and you must discuss all of the duties you were expected to cover in your most recent and most relevant positions. Try to show that you are the right candidate by showing a history of successes with previous companies who you have worked for, and try to give examples of times when you have gone beyond the call of duty for your employer.

The final section of your Officer Resume should be about your personal details. You can talk here about any clubs or societies that you belong to, and anything that you feel is important to you. Try to find something in your social calendar which indicates that you are a social and responsible member of society, because the people reading your resume are going to have to work with you, and you want them to have a healthy respect for you before they even meet you.
