To become a painter, your experience is often more important than your qualifications but perhaps the most important thing of all in terms of landing a job is the Painting Resume you present to your potential employers. You need to make sure that it is well put together with all of the necessary information, and it should always arrive hand in hand with a Painter cover letter.

You should start off your application with a cover letter. Make sure that you formally apply for the job, but also use the opportunity to show the reader why you think that you would be a suitable candidate. Make sure you go into detail about all of your jobs in the past, and explain what you did in each one on a day to day basis. You should try to mention things like making site inspections to assess the need for work, carrying out preparations for work to be done, providing quotes for people for painting work to be carried out, and you should also mention any positions where you have had people working beneath you and under your supervision.

The final section of your Painter Resume should focus on your qualifications. There are no specific qualifications which will put you ahead of the queue when it comes to trying to land a painting job, but if you have any certificates from your time in the job then this might help to persuade your prospective employers to take your application seriously. Anything standard like a health and safety certificate or a first aid certificate will also only do you good.
