Practitioner Resumes
To become as nurse or practitioner you undoubtedly need to have had the right training. Unfortunately, it is not as simple as going out, getting training and walking into a job. Even if you are already working as a practitioner and you simply want to apply for another practitioner role, you will still have to come up with a really great Practitioner Resume and cover letter.
A Practitioner cover letter is the best way of starting an application. You should use the letter to apply for the job formally, and also to give a couple of reasons why you should be considered for the post. You can mention your experience or your qualifications here, but remember that these two subjects are touched upon heavily in your Practitioner Resume, so you don’t want to duplicate what you are writing.
Once you have written your Practitioner cover letter you should get started on your Practitioner Resume. Start this with an objective statement. Try to explain what sort of position you are looking for, but remember to make sure that this description matches the job description of the job for which you are applying.
The next section of your Practitioner Resume should be about your skills in the job. You can mention here that you have a natural affinity with patients and have the ability to put people at ease. You can also mention that you have experience in Emergency, in intensive care departments as well as oncology departments, or whatever departments you have worked in. You can also mention your knowledge of administering medicines and also of diagnosing some problems and deciding ion appropriate treatments in some cases.
The following section of your Practitioner Resume should be about your professional experience in the job. Try to list all of your previous positions in reverse order and talk about all of the positions you have held. Mention which area of nursing each position was in, and explain what you did from day to day in each job. You can talk about things like having to supervise entire wards overnight, checking on patients throughout the night, and maintaining a safe and secure area throughout your shift. You can also mention dealing with medical deliveries, administering treatments such as intravenous drugs, and also taking blood samples.
The final section of your Practitioner Resume should talk about your education and qualifications. In an ideal world you will have a degree in nursing, although an associate degree is often enough. On top of this though, it is always useful to have some certificates which will make it easier for you to find work. These will be things like certificates in Basic life support, Paediatric Cardiac Life support and being a nationally certified nurse practitioner.
