About Acting
Acting is the work of an actor or actress. An actor or actress is a person who acts in a dramatic production and who works in film, television, theatre, or radio in that capacity. The word actor regardless of male or female refers to a person who acts, while actress refers specifically to a female person who acts. Chances of succeeding as an actor are greatly enhanced by studying drama at a university or college, or acting classes in studios or conservatories.
An actor or actress is said to possess a number of skills, including good vocal projection, clarity of speech, physical expressiveness, a good sense of perspective, emotional availability, a well developed imagination, the ability to analyze and understand dramatic text, and the ability to emulate or generate emotional and physical conditions. A Well-rounded actor is also skilled in visual arts, emotional expressiveness, imitating dialects, accents and body language, mime, stage combat, and performing classical texts such as Shakespeare.

Acting Resume Tips
An acting resume should be exactly one side of one page, and you will typically staple your head shot.
Your single page resume should represent you as an artist, as an entertainer, as an employee, and as a colleague. You must give the employer a good and solid impression of you through your resume and headshot.
Look for what the employers seem to be looking, and try and give it to them.
You should twist and pull at the facts of your professional life until they fit, as closely as possible, the specific audition.
Mention your contact information clearly.
Mention your name in bold at the top and put your height, weight, hair color, and eye color right under that in relatively smaller font. Include your phone number and an e-mail address most definitely.
The section beneath the basic information should list your most important experiences for the parts you are auditioning for.
If you are auditioning for roles in theatre, you will make a section called "Theatrical Experience". Depending on your specialties you might even want to consider splitting up musical theatre experience from straight theatre experience. Mention your character name instead of credit as co-star.
Use simple language.
Do not include boastful information that causes a negative impact on the selector. Show him only that scene which you want him to see.
Try to avoid the following mistakes.
Overfilling the resume, listing roles for which you are too old/young to play and chronological listing should be avoided. |

Use keywords:
Use keywords, buzz words and action verbs that are related to acting. These words will pop your resume and highlights the information. For example you can use buzz word like Dancing, Singing and Acting along with action verbs like dramatize, organize, coordinate and many more. |
