Cooking Resumes
Your Cooking Resume should be a great opportunity for you to illustrate your flair for cookery and your drive and determination to succeed within the industry. Your Resume should equally show your commitment to a career in cookery, a solid training history within the industry and a good career progression so far.
Your Cookery Resume should be presented alongside a Cookery cover letter. This cover letter is a great chance for you to demonstrate your desire to progress your career. Your cover letter should start off with your name, address and contact details before you introduce yourself.
With this out of the way you should start your cover letter with a short sentence or two which should get a few simple but crucial points across in your letter. You should state the exact position as advertised that you would like to apply for. Secondly, you need to say where you saw the job being advertised, and thirdly you need to suggest the reasons behind your desire to work for this company.
Once all of this is out of the way you have a bit of space in your Cookery cover letter to sell yourself. You shouldn’t get too specific here – just use some examples from your experience or training which will show your skills or passion for the industry. You need to have had a close look at the job description so that you can match your skills to those needed for the position. Be sure to mention a couple of these as a way of showing your suitability for the job. Complete your cover letter with a re affirmation of your wishes to be considered for the post and I would suggest indicating to the prospective employer that you will contact them at a specific point in time to follow up your application with a telephone call.
Your Cookery Resume should start off with your name and contact details at the head of the first page. With this out of the way you might want to start with an objective. This should be a Strong sentence which outlines your aspirations in the world of cookery. Try to make sure that your aspirations are ones that are achievable in the company that you are applying to, or they may think that you are not suitable for the position!
Your Cookery Resume should now have a section on your Education history. You should be careful not to go into too much detail when mentioning your early education – your school grades are important but just list them and give the date and institution, your prospective employer doesn’t need any further information about this. Instead, grace your Cookery Resume with a wealth of detail about your Cookery qualifications, breaking your course down into its component parts in order to highlight your real strong suits.
Your Professional experience section should be the last section of your Cookery resume. Again, you should be expansive with regards to your more recent and relevant positions, and remember to sell yourself as a great cook!
