Sample Cover Letters
Every career is different-in every single way. Each career position offers a different role, responsibilities, salary range, work environment, education, and experience requirements. So, a CEO of a bank would have a completely different career profile than someone who is a Landscape Architect. Make sense? Of course; but many people do not consider that these differences extend not just to the actual profession itself; but also, to the presentation of job candidates to potential employers, as well-more specifically, in that of the cover letter.
The cover letter is a lot more significant than many people think, and this is the cause for a lot of applicants never hearing back regarding a job they have applied for. For one, the purpose of the cover letter is to introduce a candidate’s interest in a specific position; as well as a quick review of why they feel their qualifications make them a viable candidate for the position. It is not-like many people-just a letter of introduction. Though this might have been its purpose long ago in applying for positions; the cover letter is now much more important; and in often case, more important than the actual attached resume. Why? Many employers do not have time to read through pages of resume qualifications and education; and so, they consult the cover letter for the summary. Based on that, they discard or approve the candidate for an interview.
