Customer Service Resumes
Applying for a job in Customer Service industry is one of the hardest things to do. It differs from most cover letters in that you have to make the person who is reading the application believe straight away that you are capable of giving great customer satisfaction. This can be easily judged by your communication skills within your Customers Service cover letter, so you had better make sure it is right!
There are a few rules to this. Firstly be polite. Secondly show your confidence. Thirdly, show that you have fully understood the job advert. These three things are all important factors when it comes to Customer Service. You have to be polite with customers at all times, you have to be confident enough to be able to deal with their problems, and you have to be able to understand their problem in order to solve it. You could almost say that a Customer Service is almost a job interview in itself, but don’t see this in a negative light – look upon it as a great opportunity to take a big step towards getting the job! Within your Customer Service cover letter make sure you touch upon your experience and qualifications, and I reiterate, make sure you answer the questions posed in the job advert. Beyond this, you must ensure that you leave your contact details at the foot of the letter.
Once this is complete, you will be ready to start work on your Customer Service Resume. A great way to think about your Resume is to list all of the attributes that you think makes someone great at Customer Service and try to work all of these points into your Resume.
Start off by compiling a personal objective for your career. This should show what you want to achieve and it should also refer to specific traits usually demonstrated by people who are good at Customer Service. Refer back to your list of attributes and make sure that the potential employer can see that you understand what is good Customer Service.
Your Customer Service Resume should also include a summary in which you highlight your strongest traits. Tell the employer exactly what you can do and how. In other words what experience leads you to be able to carry out these tasks, where did you learn these skills?
You Customer Service Resume should then have a full rundown of your education. This should be in reverse chronological order. Try to include everything, but make sure you focus on the positive achievements you have gained, and the most relevant to that of a person in a Customer service position.
Following this section your Customer Service Resume should include a full list of your work experience – again starting with most recent and working backwards. Here you should try to be brief with anything that is not relevant to the role, but focus in heavily on any positions you have held that were customer Service positions and highlight how you were successful with real life examples that happened to you in your job.
After this all that’s left is your contact information and a small section about your life outside of work. Try to keep this section minimal and check back through your entire Customer Service Resume and make sure you have been concise and accurate. Good luck and remember to stick to our advice!
