Hardware EngineerComputer Hardware Engineers are responsible for researching, designing, developing, testing, as well as supervising production and installation of the computer hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, internal computer systems, as well as other important computer parts such as keyboards, modems, and printers. Computer hardware engineers are responsible for maximizing a computer’s power and memory in the smallest space possible.
A Computer Hardware Engineering Degree is a traditional Engineering degree with a computer focus. Graduates with this major learn how to use math and science to design and evaluate computers and related equipment. They are involved with the mechanical, electronic and electrical components of computers and computer systems, such as processing units, memory and storage, data cabling and switching. They work on the original design of computer components and systems, using computer software to assist in digital design and specifications.
