Manager Resumes
With a career behind you in management you will know all about motivating your troops and communicating with people to get the best out of them. It’s critically important that you transpose these traits to your Manager Resume and cover letter. Of course, any employer is mostly interested with the facts found within your application, but if you can apply an air of confidence and show through your writing your great communication and leadership skills then you give yourself an even better chance of success.
Start off with a really impressive Manager cover letter. This needs to have an air of authority to it regarding your confidence in yourself, but you don’t want to overstep the mark and fall into arrogance. Your Manager cover letter should start with a sentence or two explaining which position you are applying for, where you saw the position advertised and why you think you should be the person to fill the vacancy. At this point you can begin to talk about your experience and qualifications with regard to the position. Don’t give too much information though – your cover letter should be a conduit between yourself and your Manager Resume – it is a document to direct your prospective employer to the main event – your Manager resume. Finish off your cover letter by re emphasising your desire to be considered for the position and inform the reader that you will be contacting them to follow up your application.
Your Manager Resume should start off with all of your contact details, including name, address, phone numbers and e mail address. It’s vitally important that this information is there. These ought to be in your cover letter too but it just shows your organisational skills, which are a vital string to any Manager’s bow.
Follow this with a strong, ambitious objective statement. This should show your hopes for your career and there is nothing wrong with pitching your ambitions a little bit higher than the job for which you are applying. Just make sure that your beliefs tally with your employers, by researching their company before applying.
Follow this section with your education and qualifications. Your Manager Resume should have quite a bit of detail about your qualifications, particularly in reference to certificates obtained purely for the purpose of management positions. Start this section with your most recent qualifications and work backwards from there, giving more detail to anything that relates to the position you are applying for.
The next section should be all about your work experience. Again, this section should run from the last job you held, or the job you are currently in. Naturally you should attempt to give more information about this position, and give less information, the further back you go.
The last section of your Manager Resume should be dedicated to your endeavours away from work. This should still show your leadership and communication skills, so you should look to include information about any club captain positions you have held, or any projects you have lead in the community.
