Flight NurseA Flight Nurse provides prehospital and emergency or critical nursing care to all types of patients during aero medical evacuation or rescue operations aboard helicopter and propeller aircraft or jet aircraft. Flight Nurse assesses individual patient's in-flight needs and requests appropriate medications, supplies and equipment, provides continuing nursing care from origination to the destination facility.
A flight nurse is a highly trained registered nurse who has experience in not only advanced life support but also critical care. A Flight Nurse deals with a variety of emergencies and under numerous conditions and must possess knowledge of intensive care, critical care and emergency care techniques.
