Operation Manager Resumes

As an Operations Manager you have probably had to read and evaluate Resumes yourself from time to time so you should already know exactly what is required of your Operations Manager Resume. The golden rule for someone in a management position is to make sure that their Resume is to the point and strongly focused on their skills and specific to the job. You have moved on from general positions, so you should move on from a general Resume.

Start things off with a good, concise Operations Manager cover letter. This should start off with confirmation of the job for which you are applying, followed by a quick explanation of why you would like to apply for this post. Here, you should mention something about your hopes to progress your career, and you need to have something to say about the company that you are hoping to join. Try to do a little research on the company and find a nice positive piece of information which you can say impresses you. There is nothing wrong with a bit of flattery when it comes to job applications!

Your operations Manager cover letter also needs to have a paragraph devoted to why you feel you are a suitable candidate for the position. You can mention some of your experience, your qualifications or your management techniques here, but try to remember that you are going to be focusing on these areas within your Operations Manager Resume, so you should try to be brief.

Finish your cover letter with a polite closing sentence asking to be contacted for an interview for the position.

Your Resume needs to be high on impact and low on waffle. This means cutting out anything that you find less than relevant to the application.

Start off with a focused objective statement that tallies well with the job description for which you are applying.

The next section of your Operation Manager Resume should be a summary of your skills. You should bullet point these, and try not to have a list as long as your arm. Target in on the core skills needed for your position such as man management, communication and organisation and list these. Your Operations Manager Resume should have a dedicated section to your Education. I would advise a short sentence to cover early qualifications from high School, and focus more on Degree level qualifications and later qualifications taken purely to further your management career.

The last section of your Operations Manager Resume should be about your professional experience. This should run in reverse chronological order and again you should really focus only on the positions where you utilised your management skills. Try to expand on each and every job title to explain your duties, and how you made your department a better place to work in, or a more successful office.
