Plumbing Resumes

About ten years ago there was a real explosion of people training to be plumbers after there were a lot of reports about how successful you could be with a fairly easily obtainable qualification. Since then, it has become a remarkably competitive market place. It’s for this reason that you really need to make sure that you have an excellent Plumbers Resume.

You should start off your Resume with a Plumbers cover letter. This letter is your first impression so it needs to be good and to the point. You should start off mentioning which position you would like to apply for, and inform the employer where you learned of the position. You should also try to do some research on your prospective employer in order to explain why you would like to join their company. It’s helpful to know a bit about them because you can relate your desire for a place on their team to their great training methods, or their willingness to further their staffs’ careers. Find something about their company ethos and use it to benefit your application.

Your Plumbers cover letter also needs to be about yourself. You should use the next paragraph to explain why you think you are more than able to do the job. In this paragraph you can mention your training, past employment, and certificates you hold, but your comments here really should only be in passing – you will be mentioning these very same things in much greater depth in your Plumbers Resume so you should keep it brief here to avoid repetition.

Finish off your cover letter by confirming once again that you would like to be considered for the position and try to include a call to action for the reader in order to be called for interview.

Your Plumbers Resume should start off with an objective, indicative of someone looking to further their career in the plumbing trade. You might like to take another look at the research you did on the company to make sure your objective matches up with the job description.

You should have a large section devoted to your education, qualifications and up to date certificates. Start off with your up to date certificates, and indicate to the employer under what circumstances are you legally covered to work. You should follow these with any qualifications you have gained whilst working in the profession. Finally, and working in reverse chronological order you should list and embellish upon your education. Allow more space for your specific Plumbing course, and then briefly give your grades and dates passed for your High School exams.

The last section of your Plumbers Resume should be your work experience. Again, this should run backwards from your most recent position, and you should also try to explain what your specific duties were for each job. If you have held positions which have not been relevant to your Plumbing career then list these, but don’t go into any detail about them.
