If you have recently qualified to become a teacher, or you are already a teacher but you are currently trying to further your career, then you need to have a really impressive and up to date Teacher Resume and cover letter. When putting this together you should start off with your teacher cover letter, as this will be the first thing read by your prospective employers.
The first thing your Teacher cover letter needs to do is to address the job advertisement. To do this you need to fully understand what the school is looking for, and answer that request within your cover letter. Be sure that you understand the job description very clearly before writing the cover letter. Make sure that you mention your qualifications, and your experience, but try not to go into detail because there is plenty of space for that in your Teacher Resume. You must acknowledge that you would like to apply for the job, and explain both why you feel that you are the right candidate for the job, and why you think you would enjoy the role.
Once this has been accomplished you can move on to the Teacher Resume. This resume needs to lots of things in order for you to be considered for the post. It needs to show your passion, your skill sets, your experience, your qualifications, and perhaps most importantly of all, your personality.
After setting out your contact details, you should be looking to get the ball rolling with an objective. This should be a succinct statement stating where you see your career going. Remember to make sure that the objective works well with the job description because it is no good saying that you see your future career as a humanities teacher, when you are applying for a job as an arts teacher!
Once you have finished your objective, your Teacher Resume needs a really great section on your previous experience. This should run in reverse order from your last position. You should talk not only about your duties in each jog, but also your achievements, what you enjoyed about the position and what you feel that you brought to each individual school that you have worked in. You can mention any of the out of hours work you might have done in terms of escorting the children on school trips and such things.
The next section should be a list of your qualifications, and again this should run in reverse order. Try to break down some of the qualifications into the parts which you excelled in or enjoyed the most – especially when the qualification is relevant specifically to teaching.
The final section will be about your life outside of work. Schools like to see people who are active within their communities so it is important here to show that you can become part of a community easily and anything that you have done on any committees will aid your application.

1. Begin with your personal details. At the top left hand side of the page, include your full name, street address, city, state, country, zip and contact information as follows:

2. Personal summary or career objective. This is an essential element of your teaching resume, so make sure the information you include is highlighted in a way that not only states your aspirations, but describes how your qualifications or abilities will lend to or improve the position. Keep this section brief, about 2 to 3 descriptive sentences should do it.

3. Employment history. In this section of your teaching resume, you want to list previous employment beginning with present or most current information. Include the name of the school or college, your position, and years worked followed by responsibilities as follows:

4. Achievements, skills and qualifications. You will want to make each of these areas separate using a bold heading. It is essential that you list relevant accomplishments, skills, and qualifications that are targeted to the position for which you are applying. Follow each heading with a bulleted list of skills, achievements, etc.

5. Interests and references. It is perfectly acceptable for you to include interests or hobbies, as long as they are relevant to the teaching job. In the reference section, you may choose to include the names and contact information for each reference, or to simply put "references available on request."
Your resume is the first impression a prospective employer will get of you and your abilities. Write it using simple fonts so that it is easy to read, and highlight your skills using enthusiasm and confidence.
