Librarians help customers locate information and using it proficiently for personal and professional objectives. Librarians need to be knowledgeable about a vast array of scholarly and public information resources and have to follow trends and advancements in publishing, computers, and the media as they direct the selection and organization of materials. Librarian’s direct staff, develop and design information programs and systems that will be used by the public, making sure that every information is displayed in a user friendly manner.
Librarian responsibilities include integrate the provisions of the District Library Plan and the referenced resources into the site library; organize and meet regularly with the Campus Library Committee; establish a public relations program that will effectively inform both school and community of library media program activities; assist in selecting, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating of Library Technicians as well as student assistants and volunteers; maintain a collection of publishers and vendor catalogs in the library media center and many others.
