Vocational counselor helps students understand their capabilities and develop career goals. Counselors can provide the link between people looking for work and employers. Counselors must have an awareness of their clients' potential and also know what skills are in demand in the job market. Unlike agents who work for profit-making employment agencies, vocational counselors work for organizations that provide their services free of charge.
Responsibilities of Vocational counselors include to assist the lead counselor, administer tests, evaluate results and make recommendations for the future development of students; counseling vocational students, testing, meeting with individuals and assisting them to make decisions and resolve problems effectively and to administer positive attitude, confidence and self-esteem in students.
