Web Designer Resumes

Anyone who is putting together a Web Designer Resume will know how competitive the market is right now. The internet is absolutely booming and the larger the internet becomes, the more people have an understanding of how it works. With so many self taught people out there, the key to writing a really good Web Designer resume is to highlight and emphasise your official qualifications and training.

Start off your application with a Web Designer Cover letter. This is an opportunity for you to explain in open text why you are the right person for the job. You can draw reference to the amount of people who don’t actually have any credited training, and you can mention some of the courses you have been on and some of the certificates that you hold. The first thing an employer wants is for someone to be able to do the job. The second thing they want id for someone to be able to do the job well. Nobody wants someone who is going to wing it and create something that works but no one know how it works! With your training you will be able to put something together following the guidelines you learnt during your training and this will be easy for other trained personnel to understand. Your Web Designer Resume should start off with your name address and contact details as a heading across the top. Following this you should have a clear and bold objective sentence stating your career goal. You need to think about this statement carefully because it is important that your objective relates closely to the needs of your prospective employer. Read the job description carefully and try and tie together your objective statement with the job description.

You should follow this with a section devoted to any qualifications, training courses or certificates you have undertaken or hold, that are in relation to the position. I would recommend using a large font or bold text to highlight your achievements.

Your Web Designer Resume should focus very strongly on your past experience. Try to highlight when you have worked for large well respected companies and put less emphasis on any self employed work, unless you were particularly successful in this period. You should also work hard to include as many details as you can about your duties in each previous position. Explain what programs were used and what techniques you used in your previous positions.

The next section of your Web Designer Resume should be you Education. This can be fairly brief given that you have already detailed any Web Design related qualifications in an earlier section. Listing qualifications alongside dates will be enough for this.

The last section of your Web Designer Resume should be focused on any other achievements you have outside of work. These may not be related to the position you are applying for, but this will help a prospective employer get a better impression of you as an individual and it might just make all the difference!
