Surgical Tech Cover Letter

Dear Ms. Angel,

I am applying for the Surgical Tech position with Mother Frances Hospital and I know that I am the best applicant for this job.

The attached resume will detail all of my experience, training and skills but here is a brief look at my credentials that qualify me for this position. I currently hold an associate degree in this field but I am pursuing my bachelor’s degree. I also hold the National Board of Surgical Technology certification.

I have the training to prep the operating room so everything is ready for the surgical procedure scheduled. This includes checking the equipment to make sure everything is functioning correctly and that all of the tools needed for the procedure are available and sterilized. I have the skills and training to prepare the patients for their operation and to transport them to the operating room for the procedure.

I have the knowledge to assist the surgeon with the operation by monitoring the equipment and following any instructions given by the surgeon. I also understand and adhere to the proper cleaning procedures needed to prevent the spread of infections when cleaning the tools and equipment after the surgical procedure and to account for all of the tools once the procedure is over.

I strive when working in a fast paced environment and I appreciate the unpredictability that working in this profession offers. I have great interpersonal skills with the ability to follow directions to the letter. I know that I am the best person for this job and I hope to meet with your soon.
