Proficient Accounting Operations Manager Job Description

The job of an accounting operations manager involves supervising customer service team in performing customer billing, cashier, collection activities and other customer services relating to finance. He/she will also be responsible in supervising accounts payable and miscellaneous accounts receivable, preparing and maintaining accounting records regularly, assisting in preparation and control of operations budgets, training personnel to work on updated accounting systems and perform related work as assigned. An accounting operations manager may report to a Director of Finance.

Education/Experience Requirements

A successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field plus at least 5 years of professional experience in accounting and at least 2 years of direct personnel supervision.

Proven knowledge in accounting principles, practices and equipments, excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, superb research skills and knowledge in laws affecting financial operations, ability to analyze accounting records, adopt methods needed to solve accounting problems, supervise and train personnel, establish and maintain working relations with subordinates, clients and other people contacted in the course of work.

Specific work elements

Supervising, training and evaluating finance personnel, reconciling monthly bank accounts, reviewing collection results, preparing monthly revenue, expenditure and other financial reports, dealing with difficult customer inquiries related to accounts, supervising accounting procedures and coordinating annual financial audit or regulatory reporting, among others.
