Here is the Physician Assistant Resume example:

A physician assistant, or PA, is trained to examine patients and provide treatment for injuries and illnesses. He or she works as part of team of healthcare workers who practice medicine under the supervision of established doctors or surgeons. The role of the physician assistant is largely dependent on his or her area of specialization and what the supervising physician does. At a primary care practice, physician assistants can administer physical exams as well as interpret blood tests and X-rays. In surgery, these individuals care for the patient before and after the operation. They may even close the incisions made by the surgeon.

Successful candidates will need formal education which should be present on their physician assistant resume. This includes a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a master’s degree typically required. Health care related work experience and a state issued license is also a necessity. Below are three physician assistant resume format options which can be used for reference when writing your own, each demonstrating different levels of experience.

Entry-Level Resume

After completing all the necessary education required to be a physician assistant, which will take approximately six years, a candidate is considered ‘entry-level’ and can begin searching for their first fulltime employment position. A resume lacking prior work experience can make up for it with experience obtained during school. Many PA programs include hundreds of hours of clinical training in a wide variety of fields.
