I have a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts and my courses focused on nutrition, menu planning, sanitation, public health laws and regulations. I also gained valuable experience working in a kitchen through an internship offered by the college. I have outstanding taste and smell sensory abilities and I have the ability to adapt to any kitchen and to learn the procedures in a fast and efficient manner.
I am familiar with and have the ability to handle the administrative duties associated with this position. I possess outstanding leadership and delegating skills and I believe that it is very important for all staff members to work together as part of a team to accomplish the overall goals. I have the skills and knowledge to plan menus and to help line cooks when necessary to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
I have excellent communication skills and the patience to train new cooks. I also know and have the ability to make sure all cooks and other kitchen personnel follow the sanitation rules and regulations to ensure the safety of the customers.
I have excellent problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to help take care of problems as they arise quickly and efficiently before they get out of hand. I also have the ability to do inventory and to order foods and other supplies to keep the kitchen fully stocked.
