Dear Mr. Martin,

I would like to take this time to express my interest in the tailor position now being advertised at Neiman Marcus. The job of a tailor doesn’t stop at having the ability to perform the duty at hand but it includes making the client completely happy. When the garments are tailored correctly, the client is satisfied and returns for future fittings.

My abilities include being able to determine the needs of the customers, perform alterations accurately and in a timely fashion along with ensuring the garment is completely ready for pick-up. I have an extensive knowledge of different types of fabric and machinery such as sewing machines and steam presses.

After graduation I went to work as a seamstress for a resort hotel in which I maintained the uniforms for the employees and repaired linens for five years. I would like to further my career in this field by securing a position as tailor for your company. I have the skills to take measurements correctly, interact and communicate with customers and other members of the staff and I’m free to work nights and weekends.

I’m confident that my experience will be a great benefit for your company and would like to meet in person to discuss this position in more detail. Please contact me at (555)-555-5555 for an interview.

Sincerely,

Your Signature

Bruce Smith
