I am writing to express my interest in the Funeral Attendant position with Service Corporation International.

Making funeral arrangements is not something that most people like to talk about. However, when the times comes and families are forced to deal with the death of a loved one, they need someone who is compassionate, understanding and professional to help them and that is what I would like to do.

I understand the duties involved in this position and I have the ability to help with every aspect of the job. I do not have a problem with collecting the body of the deceased or transporting it from one location to another.

I have the ability to help prepare the body for viewing, arrange the funeral home according to the family’s wishes and conduct the ceremonies. I also have the ability to make the burial arrangements, be a pallbearer and to drive the hearse or passenger vehicles to help transport the family to the burial site.

I can help to ensure that even the smallest details are taken care of so the family does not have to deal with these things during this stressful time. I can help to ensure that everything from the viewing to the burial goes smoothly and in accordance with the family’s wishes.

I can obtain the burial permits, register the deaths and most of all, I have the ability to help console the bereaved family while helping to gather all the information needed to ensure the funeral ceremony meets their approval. I also have the ability to help clean the funeral home and vehicles as necessary.
