Detail-Oriented Stock Associate Cover Letter Example

Dear Ms. Flores,

I am writing in regards to the open position of Stock Associate with Neiman Marcus and I know I am the right applicant for this position.

I worked part-time during college as a stocker for a local retail store, so I do have experience working with inventory. My duties included keeping track of the inventory and notifying the manager when merchandise was running low so these items could be reordered.

My duties also included checking in merchandise to make sure everything on the invoice was delivered and that all items matched the inventory list. If anything was damaged, missing or if something was delivered that was not on the invoice, I alerted the manager on duty right away so it could be taken care of in a timely manner.

I am familiar with using the computer to make sure the physical inventory count matches the count in the database and I know to report any discrepancy immediately. I understand the importance of keeping everything organized and in the right place, especially when dealing with perishables. I also know to date these items and place them in the appropriate area right away.
