Dear Ms. Amy Jordan,
I am interested in coming to work with the district attorney office in the capacity of an assistant district attorney. I believe you will find I am well qualified for the position, and that my passion for the law will stand out above all other applicants.
I hold a Juris Doctorate from Harvard, and have been in good standing with the state bar association since 2001. I graduated at the top of my class, earning top honors. I followed this with an internship in the district attorney office before being hired by a private firm that specializes in criminal law.
I have worked in criminal law for the last ten years in private practice, and have successfully litigated many cases that went to trial. I have extensive trial experience and I also have been in a supervisory position in my current law practice for the last three years. Because of this, I am able to direct others in their positions in the most effective way. I know what it takes to get the job done, and within the letter of the law.
Other applicable skills that I have include:
•Strong computer literacy experience
•Extensive research skills
•An analytical mind
•Excellent communication and public speaking skills
I look forward to hearing from you to further discuss this position. I would like nothing more than the chance to continue upholding the law through your office, and I believe I can accomplish great things as an assistant district attorney.
