Dear Ms. Rinehart,
Throughout the past 10 years I have worked on acquiring all of my degrees and preparing for the day I could hold the position of law professor. I now believe that I’m prepared to take on this responsibility and meet the goals I’ve set for myself throughout the years. This is why I’m so excited about the position opening up within Kentucky State University. I have always been a little partial when it comes to your school and hoped to have the opportunity to teach there one day.
A brief description of my background history includes receiving my undergraduate degree, passing the states bar exam and I’m currently working in a local law firm as a criminal lawyer. At this time, I’m working towards a Juris doctorate degree in law because I hope to one day become a full time tenure track law professor and I understand this degree will help me accomplish that goal.
I stay active in my community with volunteer work such as giving lectures at the local colleges and my reputation as a criminal lawyer is outstanding. I fully believe that I can make great contributions to Kentucky State University and that you’ll find my academic and work history to be impressive.
I would like to take this time to thank you in advance for reviewing my resume and I’ll be anticipating a call in which to set up an interview. I can be reached by phone at (555)-555-5555, or email at [email]
