Though I was not seeking a new job in my field, when I came across your most recent post; I was very excited to apply for the position of Mail Clerk. I would like to take the following opportunity to apply for your position in earnest.

I have a degree in Communications from Cornell University, and have worked the last two years as a Mail Clerk in the mailroom of J & A Consulting. I began this position to get into Advertising, and as you had no openings at that time, took my present position. After having done much research, I have concluded that there is no better example of a successful advertising firm other than yours, and I want to learn from the best. This said, I am willing to start as Mail Clerk, and prove my talents and skill to you. I work hard in every capacity, have great interpersonal skills, and am a solid team player.
