Dear Ms. Andrea Richardson,
I am writing in regards to the Dance Professor position now available at Sam Houston State University.
I have always had an interest in dance movements and learning about all the different styles of dance so I began a career as a dancer. After several years, I earned the right to be called a professional dancer and I gained experience in choreography. I now have a master’s of fine arts degree and I am searching for a full-time tenure position where I can utilize my skills and experience to their fullest potential.
One thing that I love about this job is that no two days are alike. It is a joy to work with the different students and to watch them learn about dancing while exploring the history of dance and all the changes that has taking place throughout the years. I also have the knowledge to teach students about composition, improvisation and choreographing in addition to learning the creative process associated with dance.
This position would also give me the opportunity to conduct research and publish my findings so others can read and learn about the art of dance and all the many benefits it has to offer. The attached resume contains a complete look at my education, experience and a portfolio that outlines my work. I am confident that you will find my credentials a good match to the requirements mentioned in your job posting.
I hope to hear from you soon and you can reach me to arrange an interview by calling (555)-555-5555.
