I have a passion for cooking and a career as a Dietary Cook gives me a chance to share my special abilities in a way that helps others meet their dietary needs. I have completed courses to learn more about food preparation and the different methods for cooking healthy foods that also meet the taste and appearance standards.
I have two years of experience working in a hospital kitchen where I helped to prepare nutritional meals for the patients on special diets. After assisting in the preparation of the meals, I helped to deliver them to the patient’s rooms and dining area, picked up trays, cleaned dining and kitchen areas and washed dishes.
I have very good research skills with the ability to find new recipes that meet the nutritional guidelines in order to provide more variety. I also possess strong organizational skills with the ability to ensure that each meal is prepared according to the nutritionist recommendations and that the proper ingredients are used.
I understand the importance of and adhere to strict portion sizes in addition to following all food handling and safety preparation guidelines. I also follow all personal hygiene rules and regulations. I have the ability to stay focused on my job and maintain a friendly attitude in this fast-paced environment.
