I am applying for the Housing Officer position with Denton Affordable Housing Corporation.
I have a degree in management and four years of experience managing an apartment complex. My job included screening tenants before leasing an apartment and making all new tenants aware of the rules and regulations of the building. It was also my job to take care of any maintenance work needed and to call in a professional immediately when an emergency occurred. I also stayed in contact with the tenants to ensure rent payments were made on time and to handle any problems or concerns they had.
I have excellent computer skills with knowledge of MS programs such as Word, Outlook, Spreadsheets and Excel. I have excellent verbal, writing and organizational skills. I also have a friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to be professional and to get the job done no matter what it entails. I have the ability to solve difficult problems and to treat everyone fairly regardless of their culture or background.
I understand that this position involves managing a specific housing district by being responsible for all issues that occur within the community and I am prepared to take on this responsibility. I have the skills to investigate all complaints, take care of abandoned homes and maintain a good relationship with everyone within the community.
