Dear Ms. Delia Garett,

I am applying for the human resources administrative assistant position that is currently open at your company J. Crew Group, Inc.

I have an associate’s degree in administration and have many years of experience working in the human resources field as an administrative assistant. My time management skills are very high and I am proficient working with computers and different types of HR software. I also have great people skills and am a great communicator. Working in a team setting is quite enjoyable to me but because of my dedication I am also able to work on my own without any supervision.

Maintaining personnel files was one of the tasks that were assigned to me at my last position and this work was enjoyable. Managing employee benefit programs and keeping them updated within the employee files was also a task that was delegated to me. This included maintaining all records and receipts from contributions from both new hires, current employees and terminated employees who qualified for the COBRA program.

I also assisted with all termination documentation and aided with drug testing of new hires as well as those employees who were chosen randomly or who had safety issues and required further screening. I also assisted other HR employees to complete their tasks when there was a recruiting drive. This required assisting with collating employment packages and assisting with setting up interviews.
