Dear Ms. Mendoza,

I am applying for the Optical Assistant position with Global Personnel, Inc. and I have included my resume with a comprehensive look at my credentials.

I currently have my high school diploma and I have completed an optical assisting program at the community college to help prepare me for the job force. I would like the opportunity to acquire this position to obtain hands on experience while I work on my associate degree in this profession. After working as an assistant for six months, I plan to take the test to earn the Certified Paraoptometric certification to enhance my career.

I have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with patients and make them feel welcome by providing a friendly environment. I can answer phones and handle all of the correspondence between the office and patients such as scheduling appointments, keeping records and assisting with the vision tests.

I have the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. I have excellent critical thinking, reading, writing and verbal skills and I have the ability to listen to patients and staff to maintain good communication within the office.

I am dependable, trustworthy and available any hours that you need me to work. I hope that you consider me for this position. It would be a great opportunity for me and I am sure that I can become a valuable member of your staff.

Please call (333)-792-9828 to arrange a meeting to discuss this position and what I have to offer your company. I am always available.
