I am writing to express my interest in the position of Study Abroad Coordinator with Loyola Marymount University.
I have a bachelor’s degree in international education and plan to continue my studies by acquiring my master’s degree. My experience includes working as an assistant coordinator for three years where I gained valuable knowledge concerning the aspects of this job that you can’t learn in a classroom.
My qualifications include experience traveling abroad and the ability to speak and understand two foreign languages. I have the ability to fulfill the duties of this position by discussing credit transfers and other important information with the students and by helping them to decide which classes are best suited for them based on their current studies.
My abilities also include discussing travel arrangements, visa requirements and insurance in addition to providing training that will help the students adjust to the cultural differences, so they fully understand what to expect. It also includes explaining to the students that studying abroad is not for everyone and that it’s something they need to consider carefully and discuss with their families before making the final decision.
I possess excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple cases efficiently. My skills also include acting as liaison between the different universities and study abroad programs to help students find the best program for each individual. I have very strong verbal and written skills along with active listening skills and I enjoy working with a wide variety of people.
