Dear Ms. Erin Kegley,
I was very pleased to see your company had announced an opening for a UX Designer. Would you please consider my candidature for the posting? I am enthusiastic about the contribution I can make to your product development efforts, and about working with your talented team.
My background is in Computer Science, in which I hold both a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Science degree. I began working in web programming and web design as a young student, an enterprise that led me to develop a mastery of HTML, CSS, Java, PHP and more. As I also had a strong interest in the graphic side of web design, and began experimenting with programs in the adobe Creative Suite, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver.
If you are looking for a “UX unicorn” who knows not only where to put the submit button but exactly what it should look like, look no further! I have a keen sense of what users are looking for, and I can back it up with experience in both programming and graphic design aspects of web and software development.
I can create a wireframe, but I can also turn it into something elegant – or maybe give it a touch of whimsy. I am comfortable exploring the needs of differing audiences, from children to adults, and students to librarians and teachers. I know how to take a user-centered approach without losing sight of business goals. I work efficiently, and am comfortable with the concept of Lean UX.
I would be pleased to discuss my candidacy in greater depth. Please call me at (555)-555-5555 so we can set up a meeting time that works for you.
