Summary

A Channel Manager is responsible for creating and sustaining new sales, contracting, establishing and keep a good working rapport with resellers, various departments and dealing with channel programs. He communicates well with clients about products and offered services. He has knowledge demonstrating industries. He works with promotion to increase sales through events and other activities, as well as expand relationships of existing customers.

Duties

A Channel Manager is responsible for improving customer consumption; planning and implementing customer presentations, overseeing account profiles, monitoring competitor activity, help all communications with resellers, creating plans for growing market share and communicating channel activities. He provides systems and creates partner management. A Channel Manager constantly learns different sales techniques and information on new products relevant to his/her industry. He provides monthly reporting of estimate and pipeline. The Channel Manager remains updated with his/her company’s competitions, their products and problems. As such, he usually attends trade shows, seminars, product launchings and other events related to his industry. He ensures that documentation of presentations, financial reports, supplier contracts, price quotations and other paperwork are prepared. He conducts contract negotiations with customers. They have responsibility in planning and communicating in designated channel. He directs and commercializes activities, making sure that propositions are ‘ready-to sell’ and executed on schedule and to budget.

Education and Training Requirements

A Channel Manage must have degree in business or sales management. The course should focus on marketing, advertising and business. They must have a minimum of five years experience in overseeing channel partnerships, efficient presentation in skills. They have knowledge in using different software. It is preferred to have a master’s degree in position.

A Channel Manage is well encouraged, possesses leadership skills and suggests ideas for the company’s development. They are able to direct a channel with multiple accounts and partners. They promote teamwork and camaraderie amongst staff. They are able to communicate well and document reports. They possess good interpersonal relationship towards co-worker.

Working Conditions

A Channel Manager is seen working in an office setting. They work in a fast-paced environment, which can be both quiet and pleasant, or noisy and dirty. They work from nine to five, Monday to Friday. Sometimes, they are expected to work on weekends or during specific programs. Channel Managers are required to travel sometimes when needed.

A Channel Manager may receive an average pay of $101,000 to $210,000, but this will depend entirely on the company size and location, benefits, job description and other factors.
