Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a School Bus Driver

  • Picks up students at specified bus stops.

  • Demonstrates ability to observe a strict schedule to ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs.

  • Demonstrates ability to remain focused and attentive at all times.

Education and Experience

  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is required.
  • Must successfully pass written, vision, and skills test at DMV.
  • First aid training and certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.

Work Environment

  • Working hours will be spent on the bus.
  • Some time may also be spent in an office on school grounds, waiting for pick-up and drop-off times.
